Do I need to use baking power and soda to self risen flower if a recipe calls for it?

I want to make hush puppy my recipe calls for baking power and baking soda but doesnt say what flower to use Iam useing self riesing flower so do I use baking soda and pwer in recipe any ways thanks

when you use self rising flour...omit the ,baking powder and the salt.....
