Is it possible for us to live our lives like hippies did in the 60s without the drugs?
I'm doing that now. Between my heart drugs, the diabetes meds, the two diuretics and the anti-depressant that was orignally prescrobed for smoking cessation, there's not a lot of room for electives there.





But, hell, Laid back and physical is how I've always lived, so I'm not about to change.

Reply:i do the above everyday. I'm an asshole to the insecure pertentiously harmful people....love the ones who are open minded and confident enough to be themselves and appreciate everything and everyone around them.

As for the living arrangements of hippies...vegan, pretending to be buddhists, dropping acid....in the real world, we all need jobs. Look at the ex-hippie turned millionaire Steve Jobs and that guy who invented the internet.
Reply:I don't think so. Drugs were a part of this life style. Besides, the 60's are gone now and it wouldn't work again. The people who made it happen have all gone to "hippie heaven". Sorry honey, Flower power didn't work.

Reply:You forgot the money from parents, begging on the streets, finding "a place to crash" every night, hot showers and clean clothes a major luxury . . . been there, done that. Too old for it now.





Once a hippie, always a hippie. But the lifestyle had to grow up with us. I still believe in making love, not war, but who wants to make love to me now?

Reply:Not every person in the 60 did drugs (i'm not 1 of them) but there were tons of drugless people and free love wasn't for everyone either.But it was nice to feel loved by everyone you met .no matter what they looked like PEACE
