Help on Romeo and Julet Act 2?

These are some of the questions I am having trouble with. I have answered the others.

Act 2

Scene 1-

1. Why do Benvolio and Mercutio decide not to pursue Romeo when they see him at the Capulet's orchard wall?

2. What does Juliet mean when she says: What's in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.

3. What does Juliet mean by "lover's perjuries"?

4. Interpret "They say, Jove laughs. O gentle Romeo, If thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully. Or if thou thinkest I am too quickly won, I'll frown and be perverse and say thee nay, So thou wilt woo, but else not for the world. In truth. fair Montague, I am fond.

Scene 3-

5. Within the infant rind of this small flower

Poison hath residence and medicine power:

For this, being smelt, with that part cheers each part;

Being tasted, slays all senses with the heart.

Two such opposed kings encamp them still

In man as well as herbs, grace and rude will;

And where the worser is predominant,

Help on Romeo and Julet Act 2?
I'm not completely sure about question 1, but my take on it is Mercutio and Benvolio think it's basically useless to try and get him to go, he is "blind" by his affections for Juliet, and he may perhaps be mad at them if they try. But like I said, I'm not sure. The others though, no problem at all.

question 2) Juliet is stating that a name(Romeo's 'name', him being a Montague) doesn't change who he is as a person, at least to her. She compares the situation to a rose. If a rose were called say, a skunk, instead of a rose, it would still be a rose, right? The name doesn't change the fact that it's a beautiful flower. So, to Juliet, the fact that Romeo is a Montague doesn't matter, she loves him for who he is. (ironic if you ask me, seeing as to how she's just barely met the guy and doesn't really "know him" at all lol)

question 3) "lovers perjuries" here, Juliet means the troubles and the like that people in relationships go through. That's a very basic interpretation, I can't go more into it without explaining waaayy more of the story

question 4) "At lovers perjuries, they say, Jove laughs" Jove is the English name for the Roman god Jupiter, ruler of all gods. thats not that important to the rest of the lines meaning though. in basic English: "Romeo, if you love me, be faithful. Or if you don't want to because you think I'll be too quickly won over, I'll be upset and say that you don't love me. So try to win me over, but be honest please"

question 5)this is the Friar, talking to himself in his garden. he's talking about a particular flower he has, reflecting that it is both poisonous and has health benefits. if you look at one aspect of it("smelling it") its beautiful and causes happiness; yet if you are to taste it, you'll die. then he states that the same may be (and in this story, is) true for humans and their interactions with one another. Romeo and Juliet are in love, and even though that's a happy thing, look how it ends up- tragedy.

hope i was helpful. I haven't read through the story in about 2-3 years
Reply:2. Juliet explains that a name means nothing. It is just a name, nothing more and cannot bring hatred.

If you want to look deeper, it could also refer to Rosaline, being beautiful aswell and that Romeo only thinks Juliet to be the same as Rosaline, just with a different name.
Reply:sorry i only know # 2, ok it like if we called a rose a skunk per say it would still be a rose. romeo is romeo not his name, thats just somthing we call him.

Bought a new oscar!!!?

hello there... remember when i posted that my flower horn died two days ago? sad...=( but i bought a new fish... albino oscar.. =) anything that you would like me to do with my new fish? i don't want it to die again... my tank is 75 gs, temp of water is 25-28C. with power filter. ammonia level is good.

Bought a new oscar!!!?
Please tell me you changed the water after the death of the first fish!

If water is good and your new oscar sits passively on the bottom for the first day or two, don't panic. Oscars have a tendency to be very 'shocky' fish. Keep the temperature stable - between 70 and 74F (72 is ideal), and he should shake it off. If he ignores food the first day, wait to feed him again until he is actively swimming around, which he should be by the end of the 2nd day or the 3rd day at the latest.
Reply:oscars are pretty tough, so you shouldn't have a problem. they can be aggressive. mine killed everything i tried to put in with it. it also moved a three pound chunk of glass around the tank when it felt like redecorating. i loved that fish! ( he has since gone to fish heaven ) good luck!
Reply:check out this site

Hope it helps

Being cheap.?

I have been using the sanding dust from an orbital sander to thicken epoxy and poly resins for adhesive and filleting in non-crucial places. This is OK but somewhat coarse, does anyone know of a small grinding mill that would refine this power into something more like commercial wood flower?

OK I’m not building a deep ocean curser (YET) so nothing is crucial, I use sanding power for almost everything.

Has anyone else tried this, what has your experience been?

Being cheap.?
If its all cellulose (no grit), you should be able to pick up something inexpensive on ebay.....a cheap kitchen flour mill should work for you.
Reply:Put the dust in a food processor.
Reply:www.clark-craft.com has wood floor cheap - works well for fillets. I like to straight epoxy to the area to be done first so it's not too dry, then add a bead of the epoxy flour mix.
Reply:woah...Ü cool...
Reply:well if it works for ya keep it up
Reply:saw dust and glue= "Swedish Putty", folks have been using it for a hundred years.

Do guys know how much we girls love chocolates or flowers and a sweet note from them ...?

Do guys realize the power they have when they do just simple things like giving us flowers or chocolates and a sweet love note?

Do guys know how much we girls love chocolates or flowers and a sweet note from them ...?
hi. i guess most guys dont and i think its becouse we fail to understand what u c in those things but its a good thing u did by asking this coz now i realised i havent been doing this for my girl, and by the way when should i give her?reply if u can.thanks
Reply:I would think its a bit overdone...but I am glad to hear this. Easy way to get out of trouble. I mean think about it, you do something stupid, or say something stupid, and all it takes is some chocolate and you are back in. Its awesome.
Reply:some girls find all three of those things to be terribly cliche.

First:(mahboobeye shab)

when the night steps in the gardens, the flowers cannot breathe

when the darkness rains (comes down) from the sky, the blooms become sad

when the darkness doesn't allow the flowers to breathe, the "love flower" stays awake at night

she (the love flower) doesn't allow the night to have any effects on her, her smell can be felt even at the other side of the gardens

if (someone) puts the love flower in a vase, and plants thistles all around her

(even) if (someone) walls up all around her body (existence), (even) if everyone accuses all of her fibers

(even with all these difficulties) the smell of the love flower makes its way to the beyond of all the stone walls

(and) the love flower, has a shelter in the heart of the blooms

at nights when the flowers are sitting in the darkness, and they all have closed their eyes because of the horrer of the night

(and) when their body trembles becuase of the fear of the darkness, you "lover flower" are the shelter for them

Second:(yaade man baash)

you left (me) and your memories have sat down in my mind

without you I'm the prisoner of the impossible wishes (ambitions)

you didn't keep me in your memory (you didn't think of me) but, I broke in the memory of you

I didn't fall in love with anyone but you, (because) you're far from me

sing with me and think of me, think of me (keep me in your memory) without any excuses

when the moon is awake, think of me with all your love

if you be (with me), it is possible to pass the (unfortunate) events

and) it is possible to learn how to burst into flames, in the fire of your love)

if you're away (from me), if you're not (with me), (at least) be the breath of my cry

till the end of the world, forever, keep me in your memory (think of me)

Imagine.Even if it is hard to imagine.a world where each person is truly fortunate!Imagine a world where money, race, and power have no place!a world where riot police is not the answer to the calls for unity!a world with no nuclear bombs, no artillery, and no bombardments!a world where no child will leave his legs on land mines!Everybody free, totally free! no one in pain, no pain! You wouldn't read in newspapers that whales committed suicide!Imagine a world with no hatred, no gunpowder,no cruelty of arrogant, no fear, no coffin!Imagine a world filled with smile and freedom!full of flowers and kisses! Filled with up-growing improvements!Imagine! Even if it is a crime to imagine so!even if you'd lay down your life on this!Imagine a world where prison does not exist in reality, where all wars of the world are included in ‘The Ceasefire Treaty'!!a world where nobody is ‘The Boss' of the world!people are all equal! Then each person will have an equal share in each single seed of wheat! No border, no boundaries – motherland would mean the entire world!imagine you could be the interpretation of this dream!

Forth:(Booseye Baad)(club mix)

The kiss of the autumnal wind whispers to the lonely leaf unmercifully that you'll be the victim of the autumn

The new green leaf loses its green color, it drowns in the kisses of the wind and the horror of the new days

It (the leaf) abandons the tree and wanders around in the alley (becomes homeless), an alley that is the reminder of the gone and futile days

It (the leaf) sits down in the corner of the alley, stares up at the sky, thinks of the past, and feels pity for it (with sadness)

(It thinks of) the days that the alley was under my body's shade, and the kind lover tree, loved the smell of my breath so much

My share of the wind's kiss, what can I say oh my gosh, was all getting yellow-colored and faded, and dying and being forgotten

Fifth:(Panjareh)

When at sunset, the rain hits the (window) glass

All the sadness in the world is in my chest

In the rain drops, my choked voice breaks (intrupts)

I don't want anything but a window anymore

I sit down behind this window and sing

I wait for your arrival under the rain

Under the rain, waiting for you is very different

Sounds like I love you more when it rains

Sometimes when you come, you put your head on my shoulder

You take all the sadness away from my heart

But this is only a dream, a dream behind the window (glass)

When I'm awake, sadness sits down in my throat again (I become sad again)

Romeo And Juliet Quotes?

If anyone is good with Romeo and Juliet, I need some help.

I need to know WHO said the following quotes and what the meaning of each quote is. Here are the quotes:

1) "And too soon marred are those so early made."

2)"I'll look to like, if looking liking move;

But no more deep will i endart mine eye

Than your consent gives strength to make it fly."

3)"I conjure thee by Rosaline's bright eyes,

By her high forehead and her scarlet lip,

By her fine foot, straight leg, quivering thigh..."

4)"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?

Deny thy father and refuse they name!

Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,

And I'll no longer be a Capulet."

5)"Within the infant rind of this small flower

Poison hath residence, and medicine power;

For this, being smelt, with that part cheers each part;

Being tasted, slays all senses with the heart."

6)"Wisely, and slow. They stumble that run fast."

(There are more that I'm going to add to other details.)

Romeo And Juliet Quotes?
9 is spoken by Tybalt when he confronts him right before the death of Mercutio. Basically he is telling Romeo he hates him.

17. Is spoken by Romeo when he buys poison. He is talking about the evil of money and what it does to people.
Reply:#1 means that the young have been destroyed early.

#3 I believe is said by Romeo - he was in love with Rosalyn before he met Juliet; he's describing her beauty.

#4 is the famous "balcony scene" where Juliet is seeking Romeo, whom she just discovered was in the family of her family's enemy. She is saying he can leave his family (deny thy father and the name Montegue) or she will deny hers (her last name is Capulet) if he can't as long as he does truly love her.

#5 is by the priest talking about the poison inside the young plant, when eaten makes one appear dead.

#6 means to take your time and prepare - rushing will ruin things.
Reply:Well it looks like SOMEBODY typed up their homework for others to do for them! HAHA.

Anyway, I haven't read R%26amp;J in about two years, but #4 is obviously said by Juliet.

What Juliet means by this is that she wants to know who Romeo really is. She's asking him this, and also saying that she is willing to defy her family and his to marry him, so long as he promises that his love is real.

Sorry I dunno much bout the other quotes, but good luck! I assume these are due tomorrow? LOL
Reply:1) Lord Capulet: Marriage too early "mars" the woman married too young.

2) Juliet: She will check out Count Paris and see if he trips her trigger.

3) Mercutio: He's calling for Romeo after the masked ball at the house of the Capulets. He's making fun of Romeo's crush on Roslind.

4) Juliet: She's asking Romeo to deny that he is a Montague, but if he can't do that, to marry her, so she will no longer be a Capulet and his enemy.

5) Friar Lawrence: The herb/flower he's holding up can either kill a person or put them into a deep sleep, depending on the dosage.

6) Friar Lawrence: Walk, don't run (both figeratively and literally).

7) Mercutio

8) Hot running passions are like gunpowder meeting a spark - they cause an explosion that destroys both the gunpowder and the spark.

9) Tybalt: I have no liking for you, Romeo. You are vile to me. In today's slang - Yo, motherf*****

10) Friar Lawrence: Romeo needs to get to Juliet fast. If Romeo is found by the Prince's guard he will be killed.

11) Count Paris: Paris and Juliet accidently bump into each other by Friar Lawrence's cell. He calls her his wife because Lord Capulet has just agreed to their marriage.

12) Juliet: She's telling Friar Lawerence not to talk to her about the situation unless he can give her a plan to get out of it.

13) Lord Capulet: Juliet is still beautiful in death; a death that has coom too soon to such a young flower of womanhood.

14) Romeo: he says this upon seeing Juliet's "funeral".

15) Romeo: he's questioning his servant about Juliet. He says that if all is well with Juliet, all is well with him

16) Romeo: His loss of Juliet leads him to suicide, not his own inclination.

17) Romeo: To person selling him poison. He says the gold he gives the seller is the true poisoner of men.

These are some of the questions I am having trouble with. I have answered the others.

Help on Romeo and Julet Act 2?
1. They think he is still in love with Roseline and don't want to disturb him or something..I can't really remember

2. She is saying that as a metaphor to Romeo's name, saying that even if he wasn't called Romeo he would still be the same person, have the same character, and she would still be in love with him

3. Prejudices of lovers

4. Juliet is just pronouncing her love to Romeo and telling herself that she just wants to hear him say that he is in love with her.

5. Friar Laurence is just talking about how there are two uses for herbs, good and bad, and humans could be good and bad too.
Reply:1. they aren't aware that Romeo is even in love with juliet. They still think he is heartbroken over Rosaline.

2. She is saying that names do not matter, only the person that comes with them. it doesn't matter what people call you.

3. i don't remember that part but probably something about it's problems

4. She is rushing into their love

5. the herbs the friar uses can be used as drugs or as medicine, depended on how you use them. there is a good side and a bad side to everything.

hope i helped! =]
Reply:1. They don't really see him. They are just looking for him. They think he is with Rosaline.

2. She means that if you called a rose something else, it would still be the same thing; it would smell the same. She is making a metaphor that Montague is only Romeo's name; she loved him before she knew she was a Montague.

3. Perjury is when you lie under oath. She is telling Romeo not to lie about his love for her.

4. Where is that quote? Look it up on sparknotes.com under No Fear Shakespeare.

5. Same as #4. He is talking about how he can make medicines and potions with his plants. It is kind-of a foreshadowing. It also lets the audience know that he can make these poisons.

Song on House(season 2)?

I recently was watching House, season 2 DVDs, the episode was callled "Skin Deep". It was about the super model who turned out to be a guy genetically. The song was in the opening and closing of the show. It was a guy singing accompanied w/ an acoustic guitar. In the "chorus" a woman could be heard harmonizing. These are the lyrics:
2 hearts beating/ lucky flower/ all the waiting/for the power/for some answers/to this fire/ sinking slowly/walls are higher/(chorus)desire x2/with no secrets/no obssesions/*something* speeding/no direction/without a reason/what is this fire?/burning slowly/my one and only/desire x5/(later on in the song,perhaps the beginning put in the end of the show)you know me/you know my way/you just can't show me/but ,god, I'm praying/that you'll find me/ and that you'll see me/that you'll run and/never tire/Desire x4(until fade of the show)/
If I can get even just the song name, I could find everything else about it.

I just saw a question talking bad about black people. A guy who calls himself "taterhog mung-flower" answered talking bad about Mexicans. I'm a Mexican and I don't judge other country's people just by a few I might know.

Racist people are insecure, or maybe it's envy cause it is proven that Mexican people work harder than people in other countries, plus we are super creative, we do more with less resources. And a lot of women over the world come here for sex cause they say Mexican have more sexual power. These are facts that maybe people don't know. Mexico has more than 100 million inhabitants, and if you think all are the same, it would be as if I said all Americans are like those serial killers and rapists in the news. Not true right? Now, I'd like to take one of those who talk so bad about Mexicans and put him in our situation, or in the situation of those Mexicans who don't have money or a job, and see how that person would act. I don't think he or she would stand it.

Why are people racist?
Racism and bigotry are taught by parents and society. I thank God for my parents who taught us that we are all the same ... that skin color, language, etc. don't matter. We are all children of God. I gets my blood boiling when I see any group attacked just because they are Jews or Mexicans or African Americans or Chinese or Native Americans, etc. And, depending on the tone of the so-called question, I oftentimes report them to Yahoo. As the old saying goes ... Walk a mile in their shoes before you put them down. I try to answer such people in a loving manner. But it isn't always possible.
Reply:It's about time someone phrased this question properly. People have been waiting...

People are racist because of a deep-seated, hard-wired mental tenedency to care for self and family first and self and family are almost always people who "look like" the person doing the caring. To live in a community, we have to artificially extend the boundaries of who we trust and whose interests we will care for. As communities get bigger and more diverse, it gets to be more and more difficult to let people into one's circle of care. We can't care about everyone- it just takes too much energy. So we try to choose who we will help and support and be courteous to and who we will not. We make superficial snap judgments about people based on next to nothing- something as simple as not liking someone's looks.

The mystery is not why humans are bigoted. The question is how we ever manage NOT to be racists. There are good people and bad people everywhere you look. The mean ones make it more difficult to even see the nice ones, let alone be willing to trust them or speak to them. It's just a whole damned lot of work to have to get to know each and every person before making the easy decision that it is probably just another mean person, so if we can grasp at any ready-made excuse to write someone off, then we go for it. So-and-so is a this and whats-her-name is a that and who's-his-face is one of those, so I don't ever have to think of them as humans equal to my wonderful self. And what's so wonderful about me? Well, to begin with, I'm a such-and-such and such-and-suches are always good. Don't talk about my Mamma. Grandaddy was one, too...and on and on.

Except for one country in the whole damned world where your good neighbor, the person who might drag you out of a burning building someday, might just be someone who doesn't look all that much like you, but he or she is a person who looks enough like you on the inside that you can share some important views.

I'm sorry, what was the question?

Oh, yes. I remember. It's only highly evolved people like you and I who can ever manage to break away from being racists. Some people just don't have the brains, the heart, the courage. And then other people refuse to evolve because they think it's a sin. They SO missed the point...

Do what you can. Don't hate, refuse to argue. Never let your well of respect for others run dry. It is working very, very slowly. Many generations will go by and still the duller humans will always hate. Be glad for who you are.
Reply:because they are ignorant. and because they have low self esteem and must really hate themselves. i just feel sorry for racist. they miss out on so much.
Reply:You've got it in one. Racist people are insecure. They're afraid of, and dislike, a culture they can't understand. The old herd instinct: if it's different, kill it!
Reply:society, religion, culture and personal creeds
Reply:Because they hate themselves.

How does Shakespeare use imagery in this excerpt from Romeo and Juliet?

Romeo and Juliet?

I must up-fill this osier cage of ours

with baleful weeds and precious-juiced flowers,

The earth that's the nature's mother is her tomb;

What is her burying grave that is her womb,

And from her womb children of divers kind

We sucking on her natural bosom find,

Many for many virtues excellent,

None but for some and yet all different.

O, mickle is the powerful grace that lies

In herbs, plants, stones, and their true qualitites:

For nought so vile that on the earth doth live

But to the earth some special good doth give,

Nor aught so good but strain'd from that fair use

Revolts from true birth, stumbling on abuse:

Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied;

And vice sometimes by action dignified.

Within the infant rind of this small flower

Poison hath residence and medicine power:

For this, being smelt, with that part cheers each part;

Being tasted, slays all senses with the heart.

How does shakespeare use imagery in this excerpt Romeo and Juliet?
The key phrase is "In man as wel as herbs". Keep in mind that the Friar is going through his garden looking at plants. He sees in these plants the same qualities that he sees in humanity. The differences, how both a plant and a man can be both good and bad.

Go out for a walk - see a tree and say this oak is stout, or a flower and say this is beautiful, but it makes me sneeze.
Reply:How doesn't he? In almost every line he provides some sort of imagery to amplify what he's trying to express. Try having someone read it to you, while you have your eyes closed and imagine the lines in your head.
Reply:The earth that's the nature's mother is her tomb

the earth - is a tomb/womb/mother( its making you picture the earth as a mother, womb and tomb)

almost every line in there is imagery

Can someone help me with the poem "The World is too much with us" by William Worldsworth?

The world is too much with us; late and soon,

Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers:

Little we see in Nature that is ours;

We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!

This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon;

The winds that will be howling at all hours,

And are up-gathered now like sleeping flowers;

For this, for everything, we are out of tune,

It moves us not.--Great God! I'd rather be

A Pagan suckled in a creed outworn;

So might I, standing on this pleasant lea,

Have glimpses that would make me less forlorn;

Have sight of Proteus rising from the sea;

Or hear old Triton blow his wreathed horn.

Are there any refrains?? and if yes, which??

Does it have Consonance? One example from the poem...

Are there any repetitions? Which ones??

Can someone help me with the poem "The World is too much with us" by William Worldsworth?
Go to this link.............

http://www.edhelper.com/poetry/The_World...
Reply:Here's my advice:

1. Open up your textbook.

2. Look up the words "refrain," "consonance," and "repetition."

3. Study those definitions.

4. Read the poem out loud and do your own homework.

You kids will never learn anything if you don't actually do this stuff. Sheesh.
Reply:Can't help you with dissecting the poem. But I have been out of high school for 10 years and can still remember every word of it, having been forced to memorize the poem in 9th grade.

What are some of the best hotels

Would you comment on this poem?

Time

An enemy for some

A battle lost before it has begun

A friend, made in moment's hour

For those atop the hill

That bask in new found power

A nature, that always is

And always did

Melt the snow atop the flower

But they will sigh

When they see their life disappear

Sands will not slow

For it is just and equal

In my parting breath

Before I go

My smile will last

When the time has past

Would you comment on this poem?

A poem by myself, tell me what you think!?

Forget Me Not

If I told you a tale woven with pearls, Would you wonder of how it came to be? If you were to ask, I would tell you this...

A lady of the wood lived within a whitened willow.

She a prisoner of her soul wore a single flower. The flower of sorrow. She lay in her tree and thinketh of something that might have been.

As she slept within in a dream on warm summer's eve,

She found herself looking upon a familiar sight.

A far away dream within a dream....Faded, yet passionate.

A deserted hope of a once renewed power of Promise,

The Promise of an eternal bond of sweet passion,

Once found within a heart of the blossoming flower of sorrow,

This Promise found through a premonition of forbidden freedom. Within a hope of a dream,

She woke to find her bonds forever cut with the razor of forgiving love.

A love that scars the face of deceit and smashes a prison of clear molten glass. And within the same night,

She left her willow to find the lost dream

by Lauren Edwards

A poem by myself, tell me what you think!?
It's deep. And if it's really by you, we all know you're Lauren Edwards, or at least, that's your pen-name. I'll be looking for your next anthology at Barnes and Nobles or Borders.
Reply:you wrote that?! thats a great poem! I really liked it, incredibly deep
Reply:Interesting would have been clearer and easier to read had there been proper punctuation.

You could easily refine your concepts and make your poem a lot clearer.
Reply:its really good. keep the work up.

In the rain drops, my choked voice breaks (intrupts)

I wait for your arrival under the rain

Under the rain, waiting for you is very different

Sounds like I love you more when it rains

Sometimes when you come, you put your head on my shoulder

You take all the sadness away from my heart

But this is only a dream, a dream behind the window (glass)

When I'm awake, sadness sits down in my throat again (I become sad again)

Hear the voice of my heart, what have I done to your heart?

Your heart didn't hear my voice, you left (me) and stayed with a stranger

If someday I tell you this story that I've got used to you

My heart's lucked up in the prison of friendship, in your heart

If one night, I get to the truth, I'll become the lover God

(And) I'll tell my secret to the star of the western sea

Seventh:

Hey actor, don't cry. We're all like each other

When we get up in the morning, we cover our face with a mask

Someone becomes a teacher and someone becomes a homeless

Someone becomes a song-writer, someone becomes a song-seller

The old life's mask is on our faces till night

The tears behind the mask are soundless as usual

Whoever you are, come out of the back of your mask

Don't talk about that fate, free yourself of the night's illusion

Draw the shape of an outlet on the cage's bars

For just once (in your life), breathe in place of yourself (It means don't pretend that you're someone else)

I wish it was possible for us to be ourselves (Not to disguise who we are) and that'd be enough

Even if it's as brief as a short glance or a breath

Until when (should we allow) our mask to talk in place of us?

Until when (staying) silence will be my roll in this show (life)

I want to sing this very song on the floor show so loudly

(I want to) tear my mask and cry out loud as if I'm myself (Not my mask)

Eightth:

The figure in the photo which is in the album is wet

I kissed your memory again, I've asked myself this unanswerable question thousands of times so far:

What makes the songs lifelike?

Its pulse is the throat of yesterday (It means my throat could produce a better voice in the past, so my songs were liflike)

I know that without you, my tomorrow will be the same grey color as yesterday's (grey color)

I'm thirsty like the sun and more landless than the wind, more immediate than the song, outspoken like a loud cry

I'm lonelier than silence, brighter than the star, I love more than ever, sing with me again

I open the eyelids of the window, there are murmers of the moon light in the lane

All the windows are silent, sounds like (everyone in) this deserted lane is asleep

I call out your name aloud noiselessly, my crying closes the window

Once again, the invisible hands of night closes the eyelids of my window

Swift things are beautiful?! help?

Swift things are beautiful

- Elizabeth Coatsworth

Swift things are beautiful:

swallows and deer,

and lightning that falls

bright-veined and clear,

rivers and meteors,

wind in the wheat,

the strong-withered horse,

the runner's sure feet.

And slow things are beautiful:

the closing of day,

the pause of the wave

that curves downward to spray,

the ember that crumbles,

the opening of flower,

and the ox that moves on

in the quiet of power.

i know its about nature/environment for sure

but what does it mean?

whats the message?

ANYTHING WILL DO, please help!

Swift things are beautiful?! help?
I think it is showing us with images what fast is like and then with more images what slow is like. It worked for me.

Is anyone patient and kind enough here to correct this long English translations for me?

Hi.I live in Iran and I'm 18.I've translated these Iranian pop songs by myself..This singer's albums were chosen as the best pop music for the best and the most meaningful lyrics and the best melody in Europe. It's somehow similar to the "believe" album by Cher.If you like to listen to them just e-mail me and I'll send them to you in no time.Cos I'd sent them to 26 of my friends all around the world so far and I don't need to attach them again. They all loved them. And I'll be glad if you could correct my translations for me.Please see if you can use even more poetic sentences, if anything interesting comes to your mind. Thanks for any help.

when the night steps in the gardens, the flowers cannot breathe

when the darkness rains (comes down) from the sky, the blooms become sad

when the darkness doesn't allow the flowers to breathe, the "love flower" stays awake at night

she (the love flower) doesn't allow the night to have any effects on her, her smell can be felt even at the other side of the gardens

if (someone) puts the love flower in a vase, and plants thistles all around her

(even) if (someone) walls up all around her body (existence), (even) if everyone accuses all of her fibers

(even with all these difficulties) the smell of the love flower makes its way to the beyond of all the stone walls

(and) the love flower, has a shelter in the heart of the blooms

at nights when the flowers are sitting in the darkness, and they all have closed their eyes because of the horrer of the night

(and) when their body trembles becuase of the fear of the darkness, you "lover flower" are the shelter for them

you left (me) and your memories have sat down in my mind

without you I'm the prisoner of the impossible wishes (ambitions)

you didn't keep me in your memory (you didn't think of me) but, I broke in the memory of you

Sixth:

Defrost my frozen tears, open up your heart

Hear the voice of my heart, what have I done to your heart?

I wish in the last moment, you could read the love in my eyes

Your heart didn't hear my voice, you left (me) and stayed with a stranger

If someday I tell you this story that I've got used to you

My heart's lucked up in the prison of friendship, in your heart

If one night, I get to the truth, I'll become the lover God

(And) I'll say my secret to the star of the western sea

Once again, the invisible hands of night closes the eyelids of my window

sorry, if it was too long. And also sorry for the gramatical mistakes. The rest of them are as beautiful as these, but I haven't translated them yet.

Is anyone patient and kind enough here to correct this long English translations for me?
Hi David--I certainly have the patience, but not as much time--at the moment--to go through all of them. Are the words in parenthesis your translations? If so, some of them "destroy" the poetic flow. First: I wouldn't use "comes down," since "when the darkness rains from the sky.." flows much more beautifully. I would delete "she" %26amp; use "the love flower doesn't allow the night...." "If the love flower is put in a vase..." Here again, I think the "someone" is abrupt %26amp; not as poetic. Try this one also: "If walls are put up all around her body, if everyone accuses all of her fibers--the smell of the love flower makes its way beyond all the stone walls." "Even with all these difficulties" seems too declarative; there is "voice" in these lyrics that you don't want to lose. The conjunction "and" is really not needed at the start of the third line. Just "the love flower has a shelter in the heart of the blooms" says it all. "and" is also not needed in the last line. I studied poetry %26amp; prose extensively, %26amp; the very best I learned was not to change the "voice." The best analogy I could give would be, if you had a long strand of white pearls, %26amp; someone had randomly strung wooden beads between them, each wooden bead would "interrupt" your senses. These are all quite beautiful, %26amp; I couldn't resist the question. But it would be far better to go over them WITH you. I'm not registered in IM Messenger, but you could go to the avatar "DRAGON" %26amp; IM me through my twin, Lucija. We'd both really welcome an opportunity to "chat." (You'll find DRAGON in many answers in the cat category.) I think what I said about the string of pearls expresses best where I'm coming from. I'd like to go through the others, but I'm expecting a building inspector at any moment. I sincerely hope we can follow on this. (I wonder why someone came up with the idea that music is forbidden in Iran? I know that Islams don't allow it--we have a Yahoo friend from Pakastan, also someone in Saudi Arabia who is a Buddhist. We need to learn more, I think!)
Reply:no sorry
Reply:music is not forbidden in Iran?
Reply:You songs are so beautiful, %26amp; my twin who is another user on this account has answered. We would love to be part of your translations, if that would be acceptable to you. Hope you weren't "offended" by suggestions made, for they were well intended.
Reply:I'm sorry baby, but looking at all those words together just hurts my eyes. Why don't you just ask someone you know?

How to get her to love me again by words, actions, and expressions?

Ok look i have been with my girl for 3 yrs and a half..i was a kind of a harsh person but she gave me chances after chance. Now is the last straw and she does not want to be my girl anymore, but is pregnant by me. I still do for her, but still that will not cover anything cause I suppose to show support and be there for her cause of our baby that is on the way.. I wants to start over but do not know how to tell her with actions and words.. She loves me but is not happy.. What can i do to get her love back..i do not have any money...i want to do this without objects such as flowers...i want my power and work to do the job...please what should i do..i love her and cannot think, sleep, or eat without her...or even wake up in the morning without crying.....i needs to do something as soon as possible...help...what should i do when i pick her up today from her school.

How to get her to love me again by words, actions, and expressions?
1-Get a job so you can financially provide for her prenatal care, hospital fees for her delivery, and to fulfill ALL of the baby's needs {formula, pediatrician fees, diapers, vaccinations, and schooling later on} among the many, many other expenses that having a child entails. Remember that if if you don't pay child support you'll go to jail. My ex had terminal liver cancer, and he went to jail quite a few times for failing to pay my daughter's court-assigned child support.

2-STOP ABUSING YOUR GIRL, SPECIALLY NOW THAT SHE'S PREGNANT.

3-Consider yourself lucky if she agrees to go back to you; even luckier if she doesn't file charges against you for all the abuse you have inflicted upon her.
Reply:Whisper in her ear that she's beautiful, kiss her neck, trace your fingers on her back softly, gently. Make her feel AMAZING - compliment her sincerely, and don't expect anything in return - this is something nice that you want to do for her...
