How do you dress for 'flower power'?

My school's having a 'flower power' day. I got some money from my grandma and I want to buy a new outfit for it but I have no idea what to get. I usually have a rock/girlie girl image so I don't really have any flower power clothes. Please help!

How do you dress for 'flower power'?
tye dye's (they're pretty cheap)

draw a flower on your cheek with eyeliner, or a peace sign

if you have long-ish hair, you can do a crown with it by taking two small parts from the front of your head, and tieing it back, either in braids/twists/anything and it will probably look hippieish..

long skirt?

peace tattoo? (not the permantent kind)

wavy hair will also do it too.

hope it helps!
Reply:Wow, I like everyone's ideas here, especially Barrett G's and Lindsay S's. When I buy stuff to wear for school events, I usually try to look for stuff that I can also wear for more than just a one-time use. I love expensive, long-lasting things, because they last longer and have great quality. It's only for one day, so it doesn't matter what "image" you have just on that day. I'd say a light sun dress with flip-flops and some peace-sign accessories. You'd find tons at Claire's or Target, if you shop at those places. Since you're rock/girlie, maybe some ripped shorts and a tie-dye tank would be cute, with leg-warmers and flip-flops. Now that would be cute!
Reply:If you have long hair leave it down and braid a few pieces of it. Peace sign jewelry for sure, you can get for cheap at Claire's and other places. And then flowy skirts and dresses if you can find one. Even a thrift store could have some great stuff. Flat shoes, usually sandals flip flops will work. Face paint would be fun as well, if you can use makeup or actual face paint and draw a peace sign and a flower on your face and maybe your shoulder or arm if they're exposed.
Reply:okay the first thing i thought of when it read "flower power" was like a hot pink or purple shirt or whatever and those hawaiian necklace-things i dont remember what they are called and i would put cut-out paper flowers that are cute all over my shirt

that is what i think it means... good luck =)
Reply:Go to a thrift store.

Bell Bottoms, anything with patches on them. You know, those cute girly patches, like rainbows, hearts and flowers.

Maybe a tye-die t-shirt, or something worn...as far from preppy as you can think. Maybe a funky hat that you would never, ever wear in life!

Funky shoes! Take some flip flops and glue ugly fake flowers to them. Be colorful! Dont worry about matching anything.

Have fun!
Reply:Long flowing hippie skirt with a vest top and lots of bangles and necklaces, or you could wear flared jeans and a tie dye shirt or something like that.

Google "summer of love" or check out this costume link:

Reply:put braids in your hair and wear one of those hipster headbands. bellbottom jeans, paisley/tie-dye/psychedelic patterns, bandanas, flip flops, lots of jewelry.

Reply:flower power is kind of 70s.. so find bright colors.. obviously with flowers on them.. just think 70s..u noe.. Bright and kind of obnoxious hahaha. hope this helped!!!
Reply:Have you ever seen the hippies in the "summer of love" (that's not a movie it's a period of time) dress like that
Reply:flower power is like hippie stuff so get some bell bottoms and a tye die shirt or something like that

go look up what hippies in the 60s and 70s looked like
Reply:whats flower power?
Reply:Nothing. Or as little as possible. A sun dress with some sandals and NOTHING else would be good.
Reply:Wear a tied Dyed shirt.

Some cut up jeans

Have fun
