What do you think of this old, Chinese dragon-related poem I wrote?

Soaring through the puffy clouds, twisting through the air,

Regulating precipitation is my designated care.

With five-clawed toes and a wingless snaky length

I am regal, Imperial: gifted with Dragon strength.

The atmosphere is my open, continuous lair.

Imperial China is great, vast, monumental:

The Emperor expects me to be sentimental.

“Uphold the divine honor of the dynasty in power!

Exult in its glory; guard it like a precious flower.”

I mustn’t ignore His Highness when he gets temperamental.

Insurrection erupts on a far-flung plateau,

A few rebellious elements disrupting the flow.

Yet these are mortal concerns; I make rain for the crops.

Frankly, I don’t give a damn about ideological props.

The peasant families need nourishing harvests to sow.

The Emperor summons me to the Forbidden City, in Peking . . .

Reply:It's really good. Its a lot better than anything I could write. Good job.
Reply:I'm wondering if you'll let me save it.

I like it. *applause*
Reply:You are talented but it was much too long.
Reply:you should really consider writing a book, i really liked that poem, its different from the usual depressing things i usually read.

you have a fascination with dragons.
Reply:it seems pretty good but my neck hurts and i can't really get into poetry right now unless its really short. there, i just saved it and will read it later!
Reply:cool
Reply:If you were to write a collection of poems that all tell a story, have it published... I would definately buy it from the shelf of a book store %26amp; or if you are having a book signing I would want an autographed copy of it too!

Your story poem is beautifully written %26amp; as far as it's length goes people should take a look at the length of some of the most famous poets throughout history.

There are many different types of prose %26amp; verse in poetry. Many of my favorites are the ones that tell a story. There shouldn't be any limitations placed upon the length of any poem.

A great poem will end when it's complete. And the poet will know when it feels right!
Reply:it's alright i guess...
Reply:That was interesting... Keep up the hard work!
Reply:It's excellent! I enjoyed it all immensely! It is well crafted %26amp; I especially love the surprise ending!
