Fiore Valencia (pronounced ba-len-thi-a: it's spanish and lovely!)





How would you pronounce Fiore? I know the Italian word but how would you pronounce this as an English name? I was thinking fi-or-ay? what do you think?


Also can you think of any nicknames for Fiore? (Rory maybe but I already have a Romey...)





And what do you think of the name overall?


It means 'flower power' which I think is lovely!

I think the choice in names is a lovely one and you are pronouncing it correctly.





As for a nickname ..I have said this before ..A nick name doesn't necessarily have to be a shortened version of a persons first name.It can be about their personality or you can use their middle name if they have one or their last name





Also, Where in the rule book of life does it say a person MUST have a nickname?

Reply:pronounce Fiore as you say, but bear in mind any english speaker immediately drops the 'e' and will say fior or fyor, or feeoor (english pronunciation kills all beautiful mediterranean names)

as a name i think it's a bit hardwork, but you love it! so go for it. so long as your surname isn't 'pratt' or something.

Reply:I would pronounce it fi-or-ay. I like the name, but for personal preference I would use Fiora instead ('fi-or-uh'). I would call someone with the name Fiore, 'Fior' for a nickname.
