60's style/clothing/shoes/hair/etc....

it's 60's day at my school in a few days. i have no idea what to do. with clothes i think i'll either go the tye-dye way or the flower power way. i don't know what kind of clothes to wear though. same with my shoes and hair, but i'm not as worried about those. if you have any ideas or websites that would help wonderfully!! thanks! :]

60's style/clothing/shoes/hair/etc....
I grew up in the 60's. There are many ways to go. You can go hippyish or "beatnik", you could wear a "Granny dress" and wear your hair down with flowers in your hair and just thongs on your feet--(that's how I used to dress). The hippy and/or flower child clothes were long and flowing. The regular clothes could be pretty loud in pattern and colors. The skirts were either pretty short or fairly long. With short skirts you wore either leggings or boots. I had a pair of paisley boots that went up to my thighs! They wore thick belts, and blouses tucked in. Shoes were either pointed or toward the end of the 60's the chunky shoes started to come in and of course the platform shoes. Have fun with it!





P.S. The hair was either long and flowing, or teased and straight!

To get Twiggy's eyes put three coats of lengthening mascara and draw on the bottom lashes with black eyeliner

Reply:seriously hippies didn't dress up. its all a materialistic view and the thing is hippies were not materialistic. they wore what they had and usually what they had wasn't that nice due to not having that much money.

the boys wore them big wigs and star glasses with the purple velcra flares and big shoes with a white shirts
